Sara Brinkman, MBA, MA, CPHQ of StratisHealth discussed the importance of antibiotic stewardship for critical access hospitals (CAH) and the related Medicare Beneficiary Quality Improvement Project (MBQIP) measure, examined the core elements of antibiotic stewardship as defined by the  National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) Annual Facility Survey, and analyzed the current performance of Oklahoma CAHs with regard to the implementation of antibiotic stewardship as captured through the 2017 NHSN Annual Facility Survey.
