Physicians Strengthen Oklahoma’s Economy

Oklahoma’s office-based physicians ensure the health and well-being of their communities. A recent report by The Lewin Group proves they also strengthen Oklahoma’s economy by creating jobs (35,000), purchasing goods and services ($7.5 billion economic impact or 4.9% of state GDP),
supporting wages and benefits ($4.5 billion), and generating state and local tax revenue ($270 million). Oklahomans benefit directly when the state creates a positive practice environment for physicians. By attracting and keeping physicians in the state, the people of Oklahoma have better access to health care and a stronger state economy.
