OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine Class of 2017 Hometowns

The interactive map below shows the self-reported hometowns for medical students in the Class of 2017 enrolled at the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. The symbols are scaled proportionate to the total number of students from each community. By clicking on a symbol, you can access a pop-up menu that lists the community and number of students. The zoom tools allow you to focus on a particular region.

The students hail from across the country and around the world. The largest share of students (94) call Oklahoma home. Of those students, over 35% list a rural Oklahoma community as their hometown. Ten other states, France, Ghana, and India are also represented in the class.

Courtesy of the National Rural Health Resource Center and Stratis Health.

Small rural hospitals face the challenge of being successful in their current payment systems, while preparing for new value-based payment systems that are being rolled out in various forms across the country. Complexity and change are best managed by using a comprehensive systems-based framework, including a balanced set of key strategies, initiatives, targets and measures. These systems frameworks are currently being used by many successful rural hospitals to achieve clinical, operational and financial excellence.

This Blueprint is intended to be a tool for rural hospital leaders to implement a comprehensive systems approach to achieving organizational excellence. Download the entire Blueprint by clicking the image or view it on the web.
