The Economic Impact of the Oklahoma State University Medical Center & Residency Program on the State and Regional Economies
A new report from the OSU Cooperative Extension Service examines the economic impact of the Oklahoma State University Medical Center (OSUMC) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. According to the report, OSUMC contributes over 2,300 jobs to the Tulsa metro area economy and produces over $120M in income. For the state, OSUMC is responsible for 2,656 jobs and $137M in income. The report also looked at the distribution of physicians who completed graduate medical education (GME) training at OSUMC between 2004-2012. Of the 294 GME graduates included in the report over 68% continue to practice in Oklahoma.
