Deaths due to Cerebrovascular Diseases, 1999-2007

The map below shows the age-adjusted mortality rate due to cerebrovascular diseases from 1999-2007. The overall rate for Oklahoma was 61.7 deaths per 100,000 population, with a rate of 59.9 deaths per 100,000 population for rural counties (see map of rural Oklahoma). Both Kiowa County and Harper County had the highest rate at 97.8 deaths per 100,000 population and Cimarron County had the lowest rate at 27.7 deaths per 100,000 population. Regionally, southwest Oklahoma had the highest rate at 65.1 deaths per 100,000 population. The lowest regional rate was in northwest Oklahoma, including the Panhandle, at 59.4 deaths per 100,000 population. Northeast Oklahoma had a rate of 60.1 deaths per 100,000 population and the southeast region had a rate of 59.6 deaths per 100,000 population.
